CBD Recreational Centre, Charlestown, F12 R832

Time:

Doors Open: 9.30am

What happens at a Development competition?

Students will be introduced to the format of a karate competition and will participate in the different events.

Events and categories can be viewed at the end of this page.

White Belt (Beginner) Events:

We want to encourage new students to get involved in competition, and not to be frightened by the idea of one.

To encourage participation, we will be running beginner specific categories, all of which will be practiced and rehearsed in class with the Sensei.

For older white belts, with your Senseis consent, you may enter the coloured belt categories.

Can family members watch?

Absolutely, we encourage family members to watch and see what the students have been learning during their karate lessons.

Do you need a dogi (karate suit) to grade, and where can I get one?

Yes, you must have a clean white dogi to compete. You can purchase one through this link: ealainkaratedojo.com/dogi

Any other equipment I need?

White belts do not need any other equipment.

If participating in the coloured belt categories, you must have a gum shield.

Mitt's will be provided on the day, but students are encouraged to bring their own.

HDKI Ireland Annual Registration:

Each member must have an up to date registration with the HDKI. This can be done via the link below.

hdkiireland.org/licence-registration/

How much is training competition and where can I pay?

€25 for coloured belts.
